Duke Talent Search Candidates

Presbyterian School is proud to announce that a third of its seventh grade class achieved eligibility for the Duke University Talent Identification Program.  Students qualified to the Duke Talent Search by scoring at the 95th percentile or higher on a grade level standardized achievement, aptitude, mental ability test or approved state criterion-referenced test.  Duke Talent Search participants have the opportunity to enroll to take the SAT or ACT for above-level testing experience.  Participants will also learn more about their academic abilities, educational opportunities and options for the future and receive national recognition for their outstanding achievements.

Building on a rich history dating back to 1980, the Duke University Talent Identification Program is dedicated to being a national leader in identifying academically talented students and providing innovative programs to support the development of their optimal educational potential.  The 7th grade Talent Search is now beginning its 24th year and is the largest program of its kind in the nation.  Since its inception in 1980 over one million students have completed the search with over 89,000 students from 6,150 schools participating in 2003.

Included among the group of Presbyterian School 7th grade students who qualified for the Duke Talent Search are Desire Boston, Sara Bustamante, Hillary Caldwell, Timothy Frazier, Diondre McKinney, E.J. Neese, John Potts, Stephen Robicheaux, Rebecca Shumaker and Kendrick Viele.
