Presbyterian cross country runner, Paige, has had a tough start to the season. She was plagued with an injury that forced her to sit out the first few cross country meets. At this weekends meet, she was feeling good and wanted to run. Three fourths of the way through the race she was really feeling it. Then this happened...(click to see video). What an amazing example of our students living out our Core Values!

This Tuesday, the JV football team had a phenomenal game against St Michael's and went home with a 14-0 win. The offense, led by Caden Rice at QB made a vast improvement from previous games. Running back Todd Hunt helped move the chains with great runs to get the offense moving. Caden Rice scored two touchdowns with Bonner Johanson and George Still each adding extra point scores. Leo Filardo and Nicholas Oldham both added an interception to help the defense hold St Michaels to a scoreless game. George Still, Charlie Funderburk and John Patton had standout games on defense with several open field solo tackles. The boys had a great game and made tremendous progress so if you see them, be sure to congratulate.

We have concluded our regular season in golf and the team went undefeated! They won all 5 tournaments of the year by an average of 14 strokes, a truly dominating season by the panthers!

Our panther athletes enjoyed a great Winter season participating in 13 teams over 4 sports including basketball, soccer, swimming and wrestling. All 6th-8th grade students who wanted to join a winter team sport received this opportunity with our "no-cut" policy. This led to the creation of 9 basketball teams alone! Panther pride was at an all time high this season as over 150 students committed to every day athletic practices for 10 weeks.

In the world of athletics, it is easy to forget to say thanks. We can get caught in the moment so easily that we forget to recognize others who are equally responsible for our successes. The running back who scores a touchdown could not do it without the linemen blocking for him. The player who scores a goal was only able to do so because of her teammate's pass. The coach who receives a trophy must realize that he/she never played a second in the game and owes all success to the players. The heart of a truly great athlete is filled with gratitude--not pride. In the aftermath of our victories let us remember to turn around and say thank you. Presbyterian School athletes seek a higher standard. Join us as we give thanks to those who made our victories possible this winter season.
