Auxiliary enrichment after school classes are conveniently offered on campus at the end of the school day. These classes provide a wide array of opportunities for students to continue daily exploration. Students may register for a variety of optional activities lead by PS staff and outsourced professionals.

Classes are filled on a first-come, first-serve basis. Auxiliary programs have class specific start/end dates, please refer to class descriptions for specifics. Enrollment cannot be processed without complete registration information and payment in full.

This course is designed to provide students with a conceptual understanding of Newton's Three Laws of Motions through demonstrations and hands-on projects. At the end of this course, students should be able to state the three laws of motion and describe real-life scenarios that illustrate these three laws of motion in action. Bonus if they can create their own activity! A class minimum of 5 and limit of 30 students. Cost of the class is $325.

Fencing is the sport of knights and swashbucklers. We will teach you to move like a fencer, wield your sword, and compete with your classmates. You will learn fundamental fencing skills through games and other activities. Fencing fosters creativity, self-discipline, physical and mental quickness, and good sportsmanship.  A class minimum of 6 and limit of 20 students.

Glassell Mixed Media (PreKindergarten - 5th Grade)

The Glassell Junior School is an art school for young people, devoted to nurturing creativity and fostering an appreciation of the arts and an awareness of the world. Students who enroll in this course will gain experience using a variety of media such as clay, tempera, watercolor, oil, and chalk pastels.Three classes will be offered (Pre-K Mondays from 3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. Cost of class is $300) and (Kindergarten - 2nd grade Wednesdays from 3:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m., and 3rd - 5th grade Thursdays from 3:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.).  A class minimum of 4 and limit of 10 students.

Allow your child to learn about body systems and exploration through this STEM based class! This hands-on biology class allows exploring by dissection the anatomy of a frog, earthworm, snake, shark and more! Students will be using scalpels in this class under the supervision of the instructor. Class minimum is 8 students and is limited to 12 students. Cost of class is $450.

Imagination Playground (Beta - PreKindergarten)

Allow your child to create imaginary places, dramatic scenarios and endless fun in this child-directed and open-ended play space. The blocks are deliberately over-sized, so students will be more likely to help each other with them. The simple act of matching and contrasting blocks according to their attributes can help younger students learn geometric shapes and patterns.  Students can learn to apply lessons on basic engineering, architecture, and physics. Children will participate in a healthy social, emotional and intellectually developed atmosphere in a fun and mobile class. With Imagination Playground, block- play becomes larger-than-life encouraging kids to play together in groups and have fun!  A class minimum of 4 students and limit of 10 students.

K.I.N.G. Chess (Kindergarten - 4th Grade)

K.I.N.G. Chess (Knowledge Influencing the Next Generation) is dedicated to providing a healthy, encouraging and interesting learning environment while developing and enhancing creative and critical thinking amongst today's youth. During each session participants learn the game's history, pieces, values, proper movements, strategies, and a general level of mastery. Our aim is not only to develop a skilled chess player, but more importantly to create cognitive exercises and activities that will enhance critical thinking skills. Increasing these skills builds character, increases patience, and promotes a healthy self-esteem to help shape tomorrow's leaders. Students will also have the option to be nationally rated by the United States Chess Federation during competitive tournaments. One class will be offered Kindergarten - 4th grade Mondays at 3:30 p.m. - 4:15 p.m A class minimum of 5 and class limit of 25.

Little Birdies Golf Academy  (Kindergarten - 4th Grade)

Little Birdies Golf Academy (LBGA) is an innovative new series of mobile classes/lessons targeted at introducing and teaching youth (ages 6 – 17) the historic and life-long game of Golf.  We utilize lessons that teach the intricacies of the whole game of golf, everything from the history of the game, to the scoring, to the full-swing, to putting, chipping, all while incorporating a whole lot of FUN!  Our lessons also include key character traits needed for the game of golf as well as life.  Our mission is to impact the lives of these precious Little Birdies by exposing them to a game that they would not readily participate in, thus, providing another option for their success all while teaching and modeling key character lessons that will improve him/her as a whole. Two classes will be offered (Kindergarten - 2nd grade on Tuesdays from 3:30 p.m. - 4:15 p.m. and  3rd – 4th grade on Thursdays from 3:30 p.m. - 4:15 p.m.). Class minimum is 5 students and limited to 12 students.

Calling all Jr. Mad Scientists!  Put on your goggles and dust off those lab coats, it is time for some crazy fun SCIENCE.  Explore different themes every week and take home a project to continue to learn and have fun at home. We will also cover an array of science themes such as sea life, robotics, technology, energy and so much more! Classes will be interactive, hands-on and a take-home in every class so students will continue to learn at home. Class minimum is 10 students and is limited to 20 students.

Mad About Hula Hoops (Kindergarten - 4th Grade)

Do you want to learn a lot of impressive hula hoop tricks? Do you want to perform a halftime show for 'The Houston Dynamo'?! Then Mad About Hoops is the class for you! Hula Hooping is a great way to improve balance and coordination while burning up to 400 calories per hour. Fitness has never been so much fun! Each class will have age appropriate stretching combined with hula hoop fitness and games for both boys and girls of all skill levels. Class minimum is 7 students and is limited to 16 students.

In this course, students will script, design and create their own film with the guidance of the teacher. Come join in playing story-based tabletop games with a Choose-Your-Own-Adventure theme. Students will learn to play Near and Far and Charterstone as they listen to the stories within the game and discover a challenging world of intrigue. In both of these two games, decisions impact the world and those living in it. Become a world traveler exploring the expanse for personal glory, or help the kingdom prosper through very unique choices that impact the game today… and in the days to come. Earn your worth as your adventure story unfurls! Class minimum is 6 students and is limited to 12 students.

In a weekly 30-minute private music lesson, students will receive one-on-one instruction in playing techniques, repertoire, musicality, sight-reading and music theory.  Students will be introduced to music of various styles and historical periods, and learn to perform them on the piano in a progressive manner.  Daily practice is encouraged.
