1. Submit Application Online
The application deadline was December 15, 2022 and the admission cycle for the 2023-24 school year is closed. If you are moving to Houston, please call the Admission Office. The application for the 2024-25 school year will be available on August 15, 2023. The nonrefundable application fee is $100 and the fee for reapplying to Presbyterian School is $50. Applications will not be processed until the application fee is received. If you plan to apply for Financial Aid, please contact our office to learn about application fee waiver.

Age Requirements:
PK 3: Three years old by September 1, 2023 and toilet trained by the first day of school
PK 4: Four years by September 1, 2023
Teacher Recommendation Forms: Teacher Recommendations are required for Early Childhood admission. Simply download the form, give it to your child's teacher and ask that the teacher send it directly to Presbyterian School by email, fax or mail. The form can also be emailed to the teacher, completed as an editable PDF and then emailed to admissions@pshouston.org. Teacher recommendation forms are confidential and will not be shared with parents. If your child is not in school during the application year, please contact the admission office. Due no later than February 1, 2023.
Report Cards/Transcripts: Report cards are not required for Early Childhood application. Should your child's preschool share written reports you are welcome to submit those through the application portal.
Testing: There are no testing requirements for PK3 and PK4.
Required Applicant School Visit: The applicant participates in a school visit with other applicants and teacher facilitators. The visit lasts approximately 30 minutes and may be scheduled online after an application for admission has been submitted. One parent is required to attend the PK3 visit with the child. PK4 applicant parents will wait in the lobby during the school visit. Applicant visits will be held in January and February.
Required Parent/Guardian Attendance at ONE admission event: Please note that attending at least one on campus event is required to complete the application process, so make sure to attend an event before the December 15 application deadline! Prospective parents can choose from a school tour, open house or Coffee and Culture. Parents are welcome to attend all events but must attend at least one to complete the process. *This requirement is waived for current Presbyterian School families

Kindergarten

- Option 1: Applicants may take the WPPSI / WISC administered by any licensed diagnostician or psychologist. Please request that the agency/tester send the report to PS. *Due by February 1, 2023
- Option 2: Applicants may participate in a Presbyterian School Alternative Assessment where an academic readiness assessment will be administered. This test is intended to determine readiness for Presbyterian School, therefore results from this in-house assessment cannot be shared with other schools. Should you choose this option, the assessment will be administered during the applicant School Visit.

If your child's current school does not issue a Kindergarten report card then please submit a conference report or any written report from your school. Due no later than February 1, 2023.

- Option 1: Applicants must submit standardized test results. Presbyterian School will accept current results (no more than one year from the administration date) from a variety of assessments. Please submit results from ONE of the following:
- WPPSI / WISC administered by any licensed diagnostician or psychologist. Please request that the agency/tester send the report to PS. *Due by February 1, 2023
- ERB CTP V - if your child takes the ERB CTP IV at his/ her school, then you may simply submit those results and avoid additional testing.
- Please call the Admission Office if your child has results from a national test that is not listed here. The Admission Director will determine whether the results can be submitted in lieu of the tests listed above.
- Option 2: Applicants may participate in a Presbyterian School Alternative Assessment where an academic readiness assessment will be administered. This test is intended to determine readiness for Presbyterian School, therefore results from this in-house assessment cannot be shared with other schools. - ERB CTP V- if your child takes the ERB CTP V at his/ her school, then you may simply submit those results and avoid additional testing.

3. Decisions
The Admission Office strives to make a good fit between the applicant and Presbyterian School. Decisions for admission to Presbyterian School are based upon a child's school visits and various admissions testing, the teacher recommendation form(s) and the child's transcripts, if applicable. Decisions regarding a student's application to Presbyterian School will be emailed on March 10, 2023. Responses are expected back by March 31, 2023.
