Career Connections

Career Connections

match with a mentor

As we continue to grow the Presbyterian School Alumni Association, one of our goals is to provide meaningful connections for alumni through the PS community. Our hope is for the Alumni Association to be a valuable resource to our graduates. We want to help them develop in their interests and professional pursuits with opportunities to network and connect with parents in various industries. With this in mind, we are excited to launch the PS Career Connections Program. The PS Alumni Office will pair members of our PS community from a variety of industries to serve as professional mentors for our alumni (21+) for a three month time period. Although the mentorship is a short-term obligation requiring a minimum of two phone calls and one in-person meeting, our hope is that the relationships forged will last a lifetime and help set our alumni on a path toward a meaningful and successful career in their desired industry.

The primary goals for our Career Connections program include providing:

  1. meaningful connections for our alumni with our PS community including current and former parents, current and former faculty, trustees, and other alum.
  2. opportunities for our alumni to better develop their post-graduate plans which might include a professional career and/or graduate school.

Our hope is that Career Connections will allow our alum mentees to grow in their professional pursuits, learn valuable lifelong skills, and receive practical advice that will set them up for success in the long-term. If you have any questions about our Career Connections program, please email Director of Alumni, Kendall McCord.

Want to be a Professional Mentor?

We are looking for professionals established in their industry who have a heart to help the next generation of young leaders. With over 1,200 students in our alumni association, 20% of our Presbyterian School graduates are embarking upon an exciting new chapter in their lives. If you are able to serve as a professional mentor (i.e. helping with resume building, internships, networking, etc), be a sounding board for graduate school questions, or have employment opportunities, ideas, advice and resources to share, our alumni could use your help! Your wisdom and experience is invaluable and can equip our alumni with the confidence, direction and practical next steps they need.
