Team Information

Track and Field - Coed

Coach:  Beth Spearman, Eric Martin and Michael Parks

PRACTICES:

Practices are conducted daily at the OEC and begin on February 3. Transportation to OEC is via school bus. Parents may pick up students from the OEC at 4:30 p.m. or and the team returns to school by approximately 4:45 p.m. for pick-up in Palm Court. A detailed practice and meet calendar will be distributed at the parent meeting.

Parent Meeting: February 3 at 5 p.m. in the Living Room

REQUIRED GEAR:

Participants need a pair of 1/8-inch track spikes. A warm-up suit is recommended for practice since the weather is often cool at the beginning of the season. We recommend waiting to purchase track spikes, because most athletes do not know what events they will be running and different events might require different spikes, I.e. distance events vs. sprint events. Athletes will also need a pair of black running shorts (their choice on brand, as long as they are appropriate) for track meets to go with our uniform tops.

PANTHER RELAYS:

Parent volunteers are essential for our track meet that we host at the OEC. We need timers, concession workers, help with all field events, sign-up tables, scorers, as well as other needs. We would appreciate your time to volunteer for the Panther Relays on April 8th. We will distribute sign-up pages for volunteer help closer to the meet date. Knowledge about track and field is NOT necessary to volunteer, it’s a lot of fun and a great way to see the behind the scenes of a track meet!
