Position Summary

The Coordinator of Student Billing and Accounts Receivable supports the business office and accounting functions of Presbyterian School. The Coordinator of Student Billing and Accounts Receivable is responsible for ensuring the accurate recording of student billing, philanthropy donations and miscellanies accounting contributions to the general ledger on a timely basis. The Coordinator of Student Billing and Accounts Receivable often works with families in relation to billing and payment concerns. The Coordinator of Student Billing and Accounts Receivable is encouraged to discuss with leadership, opportunities for professional and social involvement with school and student activities.

Position Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensures accurate billing to include student tuition, financial aid, finance charges, late fees and extended day charges

  • Reconciles all student billing payments between student billing and accounting system

  • Acts as the liaison between third party student billing vendor and families, providing support and answers inquiries

  • Records miscellaneous payments in accounting software

  • Monitors all accounts receivable, contacting and resolving accounts receivable concerns as needed

  • Audits and reconciles philanthropic donations, ensuring all donations are recorded from the donor database to the accounting software

  • Assists the department as necessary with cash receipts and recording so that proper internal control is maintained

  • Prepares all bank account reconciliations

  • Prepares annual audit reports for student billing, accounts receivable, deferred revenue and philanthropy-related general ledger accounts

  • Prepares quarterly sales tax report for filing

  • Monitors and maintains all required State Charitable Registration documents

  • Distributes mail for the School

Qualifications

  • 2 plus years’ experience in Accounting or Business Office department, Bachelor’s degree in Accounting in lieu of experience

  • High School degree required

  • Strong communication skills

  • Possesses computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Gmail, Google Drive, Shared Docs and Sheets or Microsoft equivalent

  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions

  • Ability to work effectively with others

  • Ability to work independently

  • Ability to interact with a professional demeanor with staff, general public, and school personnel

  • Effective prioritization and time management skills

  • Ability to meet strict deadlines under pressure
