Softball Coach

Presbyterian School is seeking an experienced Softball Coach for the February - April 2019 season. 

A qualified candidate will be skilled in nurturing sixth, seventh, and eighth grade athletes, value collaboration with colleagues, and be committed to “a higher standard than winning alone”. Demonstrated experience in coaching Softball in a selective independent or public school setting is required.  A successful candidate will exhibit strong character and will commit to supporting the mission, programs, and policies of Presbyterian School. 

Our philosophical approach to coaching emphasizes fundamentals, physical conditioning, teamwork, and creates a fun environment where sportsmanship is practiced. Softball practice is conducted daily from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. at 9100 South Freeway. Supervisory responsibilities last until 5:30 p.m.

All Presbyterian School coaches must pass a background check, attend in-house CPR/First Aid classes, and complete an online Child Safety Class. The compensation for the Softball Coach is in the form of a stipend.  There are two positions available.

Qualifications:

  • Softball coaching experience in a selective independent or public school
  • Deep understanding and appreciation of the developing athlete
  • A positive, solution-focused approach to problems
  • Skills to effectively communicate and collaborate with colleagues, parents and students
