Auxiliary Programs

We have options for extending the school day before and after school to better accommodate family schedules.

Early Care

Grades: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th
Days: Monday-Friday
Time: 7:15 a.m. - 7:55 a.m.
Daily Fee: FREE

The PS+ staff provide a welcoming environment for students to gather before school with friends in the Mini Gym. This time is great for students to start the morning socializing and playing games. There is no registration required and no additional fee for Before School PS+.

After School Care

Grades: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th 
Days: Monday-Friday
Time: 3:15 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Daily Fee: FREE

The PS+ staff will provide an environment where students can relax after a busy day of school. Students will have time to engage in games, arts and crafts, legos, blocks, outdoor play and homework if applicable. There is no After School PS+ on noon dismissal days, parent teacher conference days, inservices, two days before Christmas break or 8th grade Commencement in May. There is no registration required and no additional fee for After School PS+.

Extended Care

Grades: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th
Days: Monday-Friday
Time: 4:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Daily Fee: $15

Students are welcome to stay beyond After School PS+ in Extended Care. A snack is provided for students. Students must be picked up by 6:00 p.m. An additional late pickup charge of $1 per minute thereafter will be assessed. There is no Extended Care on noon dismissal days, parent teacher conference days, inservices, two days before Christmas break or 8th grade Commencement in May. PreKindergarten 3 students must register in advance for Extended Care. 

After School Classes

After School enrichment classes led by PS staff and outsourced professionals conveniently are offered on campus at the end of the school day. These classes provide a wide array of opportunities for students to continue daily exploration. Class availability is subject to change from year to year.


Lil' Sluggers is an instructional baseball program that focuses on the fundamental skills needed to be successful in baseball while creating a fun environment that will help your child foster a real love for the game. Basics such as throwing, catching, hitting, and base running are the core of the curriculum. Lil' Sluggers builds confidence while recognizing the importance of teamwork, cooperation, and helping others.


K.I.N.G. Chess (Knowledge Influencing the Next Generation) is dedicated to providing a healthy, encouraging and interesting learning environment while developing and enhancing creative and critical thinking amongst today’s youth. During each session participants learn the game’s history, pieces, values, proper movements, strategies, and a general level of mastery. Our aim is not only to develop a skilled chess player, but more importantly to create cognitive exercises and activities that will enhance critical thinking skills.

Coder Kids

We teach students the basics of computer science through games and animations. Students build projects and complete milestones to show mastery of skills.

Dance - Hip Hop

Hip Hop dance class is created especially for children in 1st-4th Grade interested in learning the foundations of various dance styles. While the focus is hip hop, there are some jazz elements for class content. Using popular and current music the students start learning dances and choreography quickly as well as learning various dance elements in a high energy and fun atmosphere! The end of semester Dance recitals give your dancer a magical time to shine and all family and friends are invited to come celebrate! This is a great class for children who love to be active, have fun with friends and learn dance all with encouraging and talented teachers! Our version of hip hop fusion dance is extremely clean, and our priority is offering age-appropriate material for your dancer!

Explore the Culture of China

As a symbol of eastern civilization, the culture of China is enriched by a long history and multi-ethnic groups. In a weekly 60-minute lesson, students will be able to learn the authentic language and experience the rich culture of China, as potential bilinguals. The curriculum includes basic Mandarin communication and exploring the culture. 


Fencing is the sport of knights and swashbucklers. We will teach you to move like a fencer, wield your sword, and compete with your classmates. You will learn fundamental fencing skills through games and other activities. Fencing fosters creativity, self-discipline, physical and mental quickness, and good sportsmanship.

Flag Football

K.I.N.G. Athletics develops and delivers quality youth flag football programs that promote a fun, family environment with a focus on participation and sportsmanship. Age-appropriate programs are designed to teach kids the game of football and the skills needed to become proficient in a fun and supportive setting. Students will learn basic football skills development such as passing, catching, running wide receiver routes and flag pulling. Coaches provide a fun, safe and developmentally appropriate football environment for the kids.

Glassell Mixed Media

The Glassell Junior School is an art school, devoted to nurturing creativity and fostering an appreciation of the arts and an awareness of the world in young people. Students who enroll in this course will gain experience using a variety of media such as clay, tempera, watercolor, oil, and chalk pastels.


Allow your child to learn about body systems and exploration through this STEM based class! This hands-on biology class allows exploring by dissection the anatomy of a frog, earthworm, snake, shark and more! Students will be using scalpels in this class under the supervision of the instructor.


Our Gymnastics classes are structured as such that children will get a great introduction and continuation of classes. Classes begin with warm up and work on big motor skill development. Each class will have a skill focus and stations that will help to develop each skill taught at the child's progression level.


Lacrosse if the fastest growing game in America. It’s fun, fast and a great way for young players to learn motor skills. Students will learn fundamentals of the game, physical development and confidence-building characteristics.

Lego Engineers II

LEGO II Engineering: STEM enrichment class where students build a different simple machine each class and conduct an experiment to see how they can improve on its performance. Gears, Levers, Pulleys, and motors.

Little Mandarin Speakers

This class is for beginners. No prior knowledge of Mandarin is required. In a weekly 60-minute lesson, students will be able to have an authentic Chinese language and culture experience. During the lesson, they will learn basic communication and strategies to master the language, which will prepare them as potential bilinguals to cope with future challenges and develop a solid personal growth. It’s a lot of fun!

Little Birdies Golf

Little Birdies Golf Academy (LBGA) is an innovative new series of mobile classes/lessons targeted at introducing and teaching youth the life-long game of Golf.  Lessons teach the intricacies of the whole game of golf, from the history of the game, to scoring, to full-swing, putting, chipping, and bunker-play all while incorporating key character traits in every lesson needed for golf as well as life.  Discipline, Integrity, Focus, Perseverance, Goal-Setting, Humility, and Respect are character traits that LBGA believes are universal in the lives of successful individuals; our staff of golf instructors instill these traits in our Little Birdies throughout the academy.

Just Add Beats

Just add Beats teaches students important 21st Century Skills like collaboration, creativity and media literacy through a project based learning curriculum focused on beat making, podcasting and sound design. With an audio professional guiding them, students work together in small groups, role playing as creative audio agencies to record original songs and stories, solve real- world Audio Design Challenges for clients, and make their artistic voices heard! At the end of the program, students take home a copy of their high- quality, original audio works that can be digitally distributed worldwide on platforms such as Spotify, Soundcloud and more. No previous audio production or music training necessary. Just add Beats stimulates design thinking and the design process by integrating the arts of music and storytelling with digital audio technology for a unique, project-based STEAM learning experience.

Jr. Chef Culinary Program

Several studies have determined that children are more likely to choose healthy snacks and meals if they participate in the meal's preparation. Your little chefs will learn about the nutrition and health benefits of each item they prepare. They will get to prepare, eat, and share their very own dishes. Parents and guardians are welcome to try each dish...but we can't guarantee there will be much left! Each Jr. Chef will participate in fun recipes with no added sugar or nuts, learn the benefits of each ingredient, as well as participate in a fun pop-up shop at the end of the program. This mobile shop will showcase all of the tasty snacks made over the course of the program.

Mad About Hula Hoops

Do you want to learn a lot of impressive hula hoop tricks? Do you want to perform a halftime show for ‘The Houston Dynamo’?! Then Mad About Hoops is the class for you! Hula Hooping is a great way to improve balance and coordination while burning up to 400 calories per hour. Fitness has never been so much fun! Each class will have age appropriate stretching combined with hula hoop fitness and games for boys and girls of all levels.

Mad Science

Calling all Jr. Mad Scientists! Put on your goggles and dust off those lab coats, it is time for some crazy fun SCIENCE. We will also cover an array of science themes such as sea life, robotics, technology, energy and much more. Classes will be interactive and hands-on. There is a take-home in every class so students will continue to learn at home.

Private Piano Lessons

Vivo Professional Music School will provide a weekly 30 minute private music lesson, students will receive one-on-one instruction in playing techniques, repertoire, musicality, sight-reading and music theory.  Students will be introduced to music of various styles and historical periods and learn to perform them on the piano in a progressive manner.  Daily practice is encouraged.  

Soccer Shots

Soccer Shots is a uniquely designed program that will introduce soccer to your child in a fun, safe, and controlled environment. Each week, our classes will offer basic soccer skills, fun games, competitions, and prizes to your child. The program also emphasizes character-forming lessons such as respect, honesty, sharing, teamwork, patience, and encouragement. 


Your child will explore aspects of Hispanic culture and learn some Spanish as he or she finds out how holidays are celebrated throughout the year in the Spanish-speaking world.  Games, songs, crafts, foods, stories, and videos will be utilized to help your child experience the rich traditions of holidays ranging from el Día de Reyes (Three Kings Day) to el Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead).  ¡Celebramos los días festivos! 

Sport Sight

This course is designed to provide students with a conceptual understanding of Newton's Three Laws of Motions through demonstrations and hands-on projects. At the end of this course, students should be able to state the three laws of motion and describe real-life scenarios that illustrate these three laws of motion in action. Bonus if they can create their own activity!

Tae Kwon Do

Allow your child to take part in the fun, fitness and techniques of Tae Kwon Do! This is a fun way to boost your child’s confidence, improve self-discipline and achieve their goals.

TGA Premier Youth Tennis

Come serve it up with TGA Premier Youth Tennis at Presbyterian School! TGA has partnered with the United States Tennis Association to create a fun and innovative tennis program for your child that takes place after school on campus. TGA's 5 level elementary school curriculum includes games, drills and physical fitness activities that improve motor skills, agility and hand-eye coordination. Every class focuses on academic concepts developed by educational experts, the rules and etiquette of tennis and skill development. TGA brings all of the equipment, training materials and a 10:1 student to instructor ratio to allow for plenty of individual attention. Our goal is to not only develop our student's tennis skills, but to give children the building blocks for future achievement on the tennis court and in life.


This class will be an introduction of the game volleyball to generate an interest for the game and obtain these long lasting skills. Students will work on the basic skills: hitting, serving and setting. They will also work on rotation, game strategies, team play and sportsmanship. This class is for GIRLS ONLY and will be taught by none other than our own PE Director Ann Horne.
