Event Recap: Another great team effort in a rain soaked game versus conference foe River Oaks Baptist.
The Panthers trailed early 6-0, when Mark D'Andrea broke free on a powerful, long range TD run. One of three on the day for him. Ben Norvell got in on the long TD run action with a 50+ yard TD run late in the second quarter. The offensive line, consisting of Hutch Coward, Jadir Da Silva, William Husted, Charlie Funderburk and George Still provided huge holes for our running backs and dominated the point of attack. With clutch field-goal kicking by William Barboza, the Panthers headed into half-time with a 14-12 lead.
The Panthers surprised the Raiders of ROBS with an on-side kick to start the second half and recovered it! The ensuing possession concluded with another long TD run (D'Andrea) with the help of great down field blocking and effort from Wide Receivers: Leo Filardo, Andrew Parks, and Bonner Johanson. Also contributing on the offensive side of the ball were: Christopher Means, Matt Lewis, Matthew Godinich, Styles Credeur, and Elliott Crantz.
Defense was stout as usual in the second half. Caden Rice contributed a strip sack, while key pass break ups by Nicholas Oldham and Cooper Murray helped keep the Raider offense from getting the ball down the field. Also, contributing on the defensive end were: Jakob Fjeld-Hansen and Brayden Crow. Heavy rainfall ensued during the late 3rd and early 4th quarters, at which point the Panthers were able to capitalize on multiple ROBS fumbles and ultimately close out the game.
Missing in action from tonight's game, but with us in spirit were: Lawson Huff and Matthew Kallmeyer.
Offense, Defense and Special Teams played clutch roles...yet another great team win, gentlemen.
