Football - Boys Varsity The Shamrocks

Event Type: Regular

Date: October 5, 2017

Event Recap:

The Panthers keep rollin' with yet another great team effort vs. The Shamrocks.

The offense ended a very efficient and successful first drive with a George Still TD reception from Mark D'Andrea. The offensive line consisting of: Hutch Coward, Lawson Huff, William Husted, Charlie Funderburk, Jadir Da Silva and Matthew Kallmeyer continued their great season play creating running lanes for our running backs. Ben Norvell added two TD runs of 4 and 70 yards respectively. Brayden Crow played most of the second half at Quarterback, doing a great job of protecting the ball and moving the chains for the offense. Other offensive contributions came from: Cooper Murray, Matt Lewis, Styles Credeur, Matthew Godinich, Christopher Means and Elliott Crantz.

Special Teams, once again, played a huge role in the game with William Barboza adding one extra points kick and Bonner Johanson recovering a perfectly placed kickoff to give the Panthers another possession.

The big story of the game was the Panther defense continuing their season-long dominance by shutting the Shamrock attack down after their first drive. To start the game, the Shamrocks reeled off a long TD run. Then the defense took over with Andrew Parks and Jakob Fjeld-Hansen doing a great job of setting the edge and preventing big outside runs. Caden Rice added a sack and a huge interception return for a TD just as the first half came to a close. Nicholas Oldham sealed the win with a great high-point INT from his safety position and George Still added an INT as well. Leo Filardo contributed on the defensive end as well.
This group continues to play hard, play together and achieve BIG results. A great team effort and we look forward to our match up next vs. St. Michael. Great job, gentlemen.
