Planning for 2020-21 School Year
Resuming School in August
The health and safety of our entire school community is our highest priority. Presbyterian School is monitoring the Coronavirus COVID-19 and taking our lead from local and state governmental officials. Presbyterian School is conscientiously following international and national advisories from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), World Health Organization (WHO), the State Department, and the local health department and city emergency offices. The School has also assembled a Task Force to prepare for the re-opening of School in 2020-21.
With these resources available to us and provided we meet all the appropriate guidelines laid out by state and local authorities, it is our intention to start the 2020-21 school year with in-person and on-campus learning on the first day of school, on August 18 for Lower and Middle School students and August 19 for Early Childhood students.
Over the summer, we encourage families to look over and revisit Distance Learning lessons, concepts and materials or engage in our summer enrichment resources to continue content area practice. All this will be available on grade level webpages in the Parent Portal from June 5- Aug 7.
Planning Task Force
We have assembled a Task Force to assist us in addressing the numerous, complex questions associated with re-opening of our school campus in the Fall. Our goal will be to dig into essential questions and design resilient and flexible plans to meet whatever challenges may be ahead of us.
While we continue observing social distancing, we are encouraging our community to connect virtually, support small businesses, share joys and challenges with one another from our respective places. We are in this together and together we are stronger. #theSpiritisHere
