Meet Thomas Edison. He’s considered to be one of the most prolific inventors of our time. He invented the light bulb, phonograph, and motion picture camera and developed the telegraph and telephone. In third grade, Clayton researched Thomas Edison  and hopes to create great things like him. At PS, we encourage students to Think.Make.Talk. See how this creative spirit unfolds in the life of our alum, Jorge Ortiz (‘04).   

 

Meet Harriet Tubman. She was an American abolitionist and social activist. Tubman used a network of safe houses known as the Underground Railroad to rescue enslaved people. In third grade, Katie researched Harriet Tubman and hopes to be an advocate like her. At PS, we encourage students to use their talents and resources to help their community. See how a persevering passion unfolds in the life of our alum, Nico Del Frate (‘20).

 

Meet Neil Armstrong. He was an American astronaut and aeronautical engineer who was the first man to walk on the Moon. Armstrong pushed the limits of what humans thought possible. In third grade, Whit researched Neil Armstrong and hopes to be a great adventurer like him. At PS, we encourage students to research big ideas. Meet Jane Goodall. She is a leading primatologist and anthropologist. Goodall worked for over 60 years with chimpanzees and redefined species conservation. In third grade, Camila researched Jane Goodall and hopes to cherish all living things like her. At PS, we encourage students to respect each other and the environment. Meet Babe Ruth. He was an American professional baseball player who started as a left-handed pitcher, earned his fame as an outfielder, and became one of the greatest baseball players of all time, landing in the Baseball Hall of Fame. In third grade, Bryce researched Babe Ruth and hopes to become an all-start athlete like him. At PS, we encourage students to play and find joy in both learning and competing. See how our alum, Owen Holt (‘13), is achieving his childhood dream. 

 

Meet Amelia Earhardt. She was the first female aviator to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean. Earhardt set many other records and wrote best-selling books about her flying experiences. In third grade, Hannah researched Amelia Earhardt and hopes to set her own personal record. At PS we have confidence in students to achieve their personal best.
